i notice there has been a reaction from laurence fox. he's tweeted or on what used to be known as as far as twitter. he said none of the claimants could provide a single witness in court to support the claim that they'd suffered any harm, and he suggested that he will be appealing. i mean, i'm obviously disappointed to hear that he's going to appeal, but he has been saying that throughout. i honestly don't know how he's going to afford it. but, you know, i'm confident that we'll win on appeal if even the court of appeal is willing to hear it, because it seems all very black and white to me. what i would also just say about laurence fox's posts on on x, i think the judge said it best when she said that he's characterised by impulsiveness, theatricality, a disregard for or uninterested in the impact on others, and an unfair hideousness about objective factuality. so i think that's how we should read anything that he says on x. when he suggests that you haven't really suffered any harm from what was said, let's not forget that he referred t

the actor and political activist, laurence fox is ordered to pay 90—thousand pounds to two people he targeted on social media. i've been speaking to the drag performer crystal — one of the two people mr fox has been ordered to pay libel damages to. also coming up on the world today: is this the new normal? scientists say climate change made deadly flooding in the gulf more intense — and warn it could become more common.

we're going to be organised, i think, by laurence fox and tommy robinson, who's not a particularly hygienic fellow, and therefore it sounds it certainly wasn't. this was not a it could not have been mistaken for a church of england fete. >> well, hang on, by the way, because i do want to in case anyone's not familiar, you say about tommy robinson, whatever you just described him as, he had the final day of a court case today when the met police were found to have acted in a way against him that was actually unlawful. all he essentially had his case chucked out of court. apparently, he shouldn't have been arrested in the way that he was. he shouldn't have had bail conditions attached to him, the way that he should have . way that he should have. >> yeah. be that as it may, i'm just not sure that, he's an entirely neutral figure, anyway , entirely neutral figure, anyway, well, cycling through the price of fish, if someone's not neutral. well what i'm saying is, i think this was undoubtedly a political event and that the police would have had their eye on that as a result, this was not a civic

and there's also the laurence fox. incident where he said he didn't want to have intercourse with a political journalist when he may well have actually wanted to, but let's go over that again. yeah but most of these complaints, i mean, this is the thing the complaints aren't being made by people who are watching channel and then watching the channel and then they're offended by something they're offended by something they see. there's activists. you get being sent get these emails being sent around by these activist groups, you funded by shadowy you know, funded by shadowy money that, you know, encourage people complain en masse to people to complain en masse to ofcom. so it's not legitimate complaints . complaints. >> i think people watching the programmes like them. yeah. that's why it's odd to me. yeah, yeah. >> shadowy money is my favourite kind of money, by the but kind of money, by the way. but yeah, does to be driven yeah, it does seem to be driven a yeah, people. they a lot by. yeah, people. they just everyone

the only thing that i can find, which i found a bit weird, was laurence fox said he was afraid to walk the streets of the capital city because the met police is run by the most corrupt dictator the world has ever seen . i'm no fan world has ever seen. i'm no fan of sadiq khan, but that might be an overstatement. here's the problem though, right? it's not just whether justice is problem though, right? it's not just whetherjustice is being just whether justice is being done or policing is being done, it's whether it's seen to be fair. yeah. and if there is any suggestion , and i think you have suggestion, and i think you have raised a very fair suggestion with those clips that policing is different. one type of the community for the other, we saw the gideon falter case with somebody who was openly jewish being treated apparently differently . once that happens, differently. once that happens, faith in policing breaks down, even if they're going to say an awful lot happened that you don't know about. but if the perception breaks down, i'm afraid faith in the police force breaks down. that
